Victoria United FC, also known as Opopo (“One People, One Power”), is a Limbe-based club with a relatively young history, but a recent surge that has captured the hearts of fans Victoria United was founded in 1976, setting its roots in the Cameroonian football landscape. While the initial years brought promise, the club faced relegation from the top tier, the Elite One, in 2004. The year 2021-2022The fighting spirit of Opopo never wavered. We triumphed in the South-West Regional League in 2021, showcasing our dominance at the regional level. This win secured a spot in the national inter-pools, where we finished runners-up, granting us entry into the Elite Two championship. The 2022/2023 Elite Two season was a testament to Victoria United’s unwavering determination. We swept aside opponents, clinching a remarkable 13 victories and securing the championship title. This victory marked a glorious return to the Elite One after a long hiatus of 18 years. A New Era in Elite One. It was not too long for Victoria United to write its name on the championship trophy. Victoria United dominated the MTN Elite One for the season 2023-2024 and were crown champions for the first time in history. (2023-Present): Today, Victoria United FC proudly competes in the Cameroonian top flight, the Elite One. Opopo is poised to create history in the Elite One. Our journey is far from over.
