Victoria United were held to a 1-1 draw by Equatorial Guinea’s FC 15 De Agosto in the return leg of a friendly match. Both sides are currently gearing up for continental football, with Victoria United set to compete in the CAF Champions League and FC 15 De Agosto in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The encounter, played on August 4, was a keenly contested affair with both teams showing signs of their continental ambitions. It was FC 15 De Agosto who drew first blood, converting a penalty spot kick in the second half. However, Victoria United fought back resolutely, and their persistence was rewarded when Wilfried Nathan Doualla levelled the scores from the penalty spot.

The draw provides valuable match practice for both sides as they fine-tune their preparations for the CAF interclub competitions. For Victoria United, the focus now shifts to their CAF Champions League campaign, which kicks off on August 18th at the prestigious Japoma Stadium in Douala.

The Limbe-based outfit will have another opportunity to test their mettle when they face off against local rivals, Fovu Club de Baham, in their next friendly match. This encounter promises to be another exciting clash as both teams look to build momentum ahead of the start of the domestic season.

As Victoria United embark on their CAF Champions League journey, the hopes of the Cameroonian football fraternity will be with them. With a strong performance in the friendly against FC 15 De Agosto, the team has shown glimpses of their potential and will be looking to carry that momentum into the continental stage.
