Coach David Nganbe insists Opopo must still believe it can turn around its CAF Champions League preliminary tie with FC Samartex, despite suffering a 1-0 defeat at home in the first leg.

Emmanuel Mamah header clinched an away victory for the Ghanaian Premier League Champions at the Japoma stadium on Sunday.

Reflecting on the loss, Nganbe conveyed his disappointment, stating, ” I am very disappointed, with how the game played out.

“We will do our best to win away. It’s just one result and we’re going to continue to fight,’ he said.

Nganbe pointed to his side’s recent run of good form as a reason to remain optimistic.

” I will remain optimistic. Why shouldn’t I? I will not say goodbye until the last game. So, for us that’s never out of our way, the players know that,” Nganbe added.

Opopo were their own worst enemies, missing a glut of glaring chances.

The return fixture will be played in Accra on Sunday, August 25.
