Friendly Match Return Leg: Coton Sport Garoua 1 - 0 Victoria United Fc

Our First Pre-season Tour at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium ended with a Defeat Against 18 Times Champions Of The MTN Elite One Championship Coton Sport Garoua

Our first pre-season tour run came to an end as we suffered a late 1-0 loss against Coton Sport of Garoua on Sunday

Playing at the Limbe Omisport Stadium, our boys battled well throughout the first half but never managed to test the hands of Nyeck Daniel in the opposition goal.

However, we showed our defensive prowess with Kankombo Ndanga making a couple of important stops and Beme Ghislain came to the rescue with a vital block to deny the hosts Coton the opener

Just before the break, Konkombo Ndanga made another stunning save from close-range to thwart the home side's attempts at opening the scoring.

We started much brighter after the restart and had a chance early on, but Files Ewane fired his effort over the crossbar.

Our attempt on goal was poor but shortly before Wilfried Nathan and Dze Gilbert flashed their respective free-kicks just shy of the Coton's rearguard.

Alingang Emmanuel had a golden opportunity to score with the only counter of the game his cross in the final third was wasteful and the final touches were too heavy and the home side got away without any further punishment.

However, the boys of Victoria United showed some positive signs for a better performance in upcoming friendlies before the new season gets on the way.

The team will return from a day break to continue with physical preparations that will last for three more weeks before wrapping up with the technique and the system of play.

Our boys will conclude their three months preparations with a couple of friendlies with top clubs from the MTN Elite One championship before kicking the new season on September 30th, 2023
